As trustee, Commonwealth Trust Company provides the following services:

• Administrative trustee for various types of personal trusts, including Asset Protection, Dynasty, Life Insurance, Charitable and Total Return. Delaware's legislation permits the grantor to determine which services will be provided by the administrative trustee. These generally include: maintenance of the trust's books and records, preparation of the annual trust tax return, collecting and distributing income, paying bills, preparation of Crummey notices, etc.
  
  
• Delaware's flexible legislation allows other advisory positions to the trust to be held by non-residents, including family members. These advisory positions can include Investment Advisor, Trust Protector, and Distribution Advisor.
  
  
• Administrative trustee for businesses not located in Delaware, establishing Delaware Nexus to provide the business with the advantages of Delaware law. This can include the well known Delaware business trust legislation and Delaware holding company services.

We routinely provide a list of references to individuals that may desire to do their own due diligence if unfamiliar with Commonwealth Trust Company. Because of strict confidentiality limits, we provide names and addresses of attorneys, financial planners and investment specialists; however, the names of the grantors and family information will not be provided.

Since Commonwealth Trust Company is a trust company and not a bank engaged in the business of making loans, taking deposits, or issuing credit cards, we are not governed by federal agencies such as the FDIC or OCC.  We are a member of the Delaware Bankers Association and regulated by the Office of the Delaware State Banking Commissioner.
